The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund seeks to empower species conservation efforts and programmes globally, embodying the deep-rooted commitment of both the government and the people of Abu Dhabi to preserve our natural heritage.

Originally set up in 2008 with an initial endowment of $25M, The Fund to date have supported over 3000 projects across 174 countries where we’ve rediscovered, reintroduced and protected over 1800 species from extinction. The Fund’s reach in species conservation is truly global, and its species interest is non-discriminatory. It is open to applications for funding support from conservationists based in all parts of the world and will potentially support direct conservation projects focused on all kinds of endangered plant, animal and fungus species.
