The fund has been established to provide targeted grants for individual species conservation initiatives, recognize leaders in the field, and elevate the importance of species within the broader conservation debate. Its focus is global, and eligibility for grants extends to all plant, animal, and fungi conservation efforts, without discrimination based on region or species.
We receive a large number of applications during each funding round in March, June and October. The Fund forwards its recommendations to the independent Advisory Board for review. Application dates and feedback can be expected as outlined below.

You can submit your application in three easy steps:
Step 1
Before starting an application, please ensure that you have read and understood the application criteria (especially relating to the species conservation status).
Step 2
The criteria are very comprehensive, however, for any topics not addressed in the criteria please consult the Frequently Asked Questions.
Step 3
At this stage, you should have all the information needed to complete your application relating to a specific animal, plant, or fungi species. We support global initiatives, with a focus on critically endangered, endangered, and data-deficient species.
