Continuing community-based conservation initiatives to discourage poaching and its impacts on the African golden cat in Kasyoha-Kitomi Central Forest Reserve.

The objectives are; 1) To Expand community-based livestock seed banks (goats) from the current 30 to 70 seedbanks led by reformed poacher households as alternative sources of meat and income in the four parishes around Kayoha-Kitomi to discourage poaching. 2)To establish community savings and loans scheme (SACCO) groups to increase household income and reduce poverty via credit and savings. 3) To continue community awareness and sensitization to discourage poaching and its impacts on African golden cat and other species. This will be done through community meetings. 4)To strengthen community support against poaching, while ensuring longterm survival of the African Golden Cat and other wildlife.
