Assessing structural connectivity of a Biological Corridor for enabling safe movement of tigers between two National Parks in Bhutan

Assessing structural connectivity of a Biological Corridor for enabling safe movement of tigers between National Parks in Bhutan.

The overarching goal of this project is “to secure the biological corridors for landscape connectivity and enable safe movement of the tigers and other wildlife in harmonious co- existence with people in Bhutan”. The focus will be on the importance of biological corridors in linking the protected areas and enabling movement of mega faunal species like tiger. The project has four objectives to achieve this goal; 1: To ascertain the occurrence of tiger and distribution of prey, and the structural composition of the BC. 2: To identify the threats of concerns caused by infrastructural development and other anthropogenic pressure and rank them for mitigation. 3: 100% of the communities near BC 8 sensitized on the importance of biological corridors and tiger conservation. 4: To contribute to the development of framework for management of BC with conservation recommendations.
