-Improvement of the knowledge on the range-restricted endemic Senecio bertramii by data collection: by mapping its geographic distribution, estimating its population size, identifying specific threats and understanding its ecology, especially in terms of habitat types and associated species.

-Assessment of the conservation status of the species using recent and accurate data about its ecology, habitats, geographic distribution, population size, and specific threats.

-Development of a species action plan for the conservation of the species to ensure its survival and to propose appropriate sites for in situ conservation. This action plan will also be proposed to the municipalities that are responsible of the areas where the species could be spotted.

-Dissemination of the outcomes and scientific material generated by the project. The data will be shared through GBIF and publications.

The project will improve the knowledge about Senecio bertramii, which existence is not even known by local communities and municipalities. It will also contribute to raise awareness among the inhabitants of the region and local stakeholders of the fragility, uniqueness and richness of our national patrimony and the urge of conserving the endemic flora of Lebanon. Hopefully triggering conservation actions such as the creation of a protected area.
