Ecology and conservation of the threatened local endemic frog Eleutherodactylus blairhedgesi on Boca de Canasí, Cuba
In this project we will gather ecological, demographic and natural history data and conservation campaing of the critical endangered frog Eleutherodactylus blairhedgesi, who is a locally endemic from the Flora Reserve Boca de Canasí, western Cuba. This species has very little known information and its habitat is in very vulnerable situation duo to both anthropic activities and climate change.
1. Gathering of ecological and demographical variables critical for the occurrence of the target species and assesall threats affecting it and the associated habitat
2. To start an awareness-raising campaign for the conservation of this species and the associated habitat by design, printing and distribution of posters, brochures and field guides
3. To extrapolate the ecological conditions in the study area to identify other regions with potentially suitable habitats for the occurrence of the target species, by using Ecological Niche Modeling
