Pond by Pond: Bringing Darwin’s Toad Back from the Edge

Protect and restore four breeding sites to serve as source populations for Darwin’s blackish toad. Develop and implement a contingency plan to maintain water levels in breeding ponds during dry years. Reinforce connectivity between subpopulations through habitat management and translocation of captive-bred individuals. Increase population viability by integrating in situ and ex situ conservation actions.
