Distribution, ecology, and conservation status of the Eastern Orange Tip (Anthocharis damone Boisduval, 1836) in Serbia

Very limited research has been conducted on the Eastern Orange Tip (Anthocharis damone Boisduval, 1836) in Serbia or the wider Balkan region. This project will therefore represent the first systematic study focused on the distribution, ecology, and conservation needs of Anthocharis damone in Serbia. It builds directly upon the few existing records and aims to collect and analyze baseline data essential for future monitoring and management. The project will fill a critical knowledge gap and provide the scientific foundation for developing national and regional conservation actions, including potential inclusion of the species in Serbia’s future Red List updates and protected area management plans.

This grant is funded as part of our Fonseca Leadership Program which was established by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). This fund supports young conservationists from developing countries.
