The main objective of this project was to assess the current population and distribution of Callulina kanga in the Kanga Forest Reserve. The species is known to exist in two sites within the forest reserve, but there is a possibility of finding the species in other parts of the Nguru Mountains; this will require extensive fieldwork. The project assesses activities that threaten the frog's survival in the Nguru Mountains and develops an action plan that will strengthen national capacities for amphibian conservation and their habitats. Moreover, the project aims to gather solid data that will help to address the identified data gaps highlighted by the IUCN Red List and answer some of the questions about the population size, distribution, and threats to the existence of this unique frog species.
