Habitat and population assessment of the rare, critically endangered and endemic Iris nusairiensis in the Syrian coastal mountains
The research objectives will include the study of Iris nusairiensis´s:
1- Population size, distribution.
2- Life history & ecology: microhabitat description.
3- Threats and impacts: research on relations of local communities with the plant.
4- Trend of the population during the armed conflict, comparing data from 2011 to the actual data.
5- Proposals and insights for conservation and management actions.
6- Environmental education actions for this species conservation in local communities.
