Increasing Local Community awareness to Conserve Endangered Clam, Corbicula possoensis, in Lake Poso, Sulawesi, Indonesia
This project aims to protect one of the endangered clams in Lake Poso by providing scientific evidence and increasing participation from the local community to conserve them. This will be achieved through: (i) Providing updated data on the population status and threats in their habitat; (ii)Increasing the awareness of the local community through (a) habitat protection (providing in-situ habitat protection), (b) seminars to the community, government, and education program for the young generation, and (c) conducting focus group discussion with private sector of PT. Poso Energy to reduce habitat destruction activities.
