Habitat and population assessment and ex situ conservation of the rare and endemic Rhododendron pogonophyllum in Bhutan
1. To conduct habitat and ecology assessment; 2. To assist current population size and potential threats to the species and its severity; 3. To compare its relation to environmental parameters such as air and soil temperature, soil pH, soil types and precipitation; 4. To initiate long term ex-situ conservation (gene bank) through seed collection to protect species risk of extinction; 5. To disseminate information on the conservation of rare endemic R. pogonophyllum through education, communication and public awareness materials; 6. To make effective conservation and management to this species in known locations through relevant agencies.
