The objective of this project is to establish a community-led conservation program that ensures the long-term protection of the Tonkin Snub-nosed Monkey and its habitat in Khau Ca Forest. The project will engage local communities in conservation planning, habitat restoration, monitoring, and forest management, building local capacity and fostering a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for biodiversity protection. At the same time, the project will support sustainable livelihood alternatives—such as the development and distribution of efficient stoves—to reduce community dependence on forest resources. As a complementary component, the project will promote small-scale ecotourism initiatives that provide modest economic benefits to local people while raising awareness and appreciation of the Tonkin Snub-nosed Monkey and its conservation.
