Search for the Rocky Glider: Assessing the distribution of Eupetaurus cinereus in the Uttarakhand Himalaya, India.
The current project is being carried out in the higher altitude areas of Indian state of Uttarakhand. The protected areas that are included in the project are namely, Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, Gangotri National Park, and Govind Pashu Vihar National Park and Sanctuary. Recently, surveys are being carried out at Dharali region in the Harsil valley of Uttarkashi district. Camera traps are placed in the rocky cliffs and the region is being monitored for the species. The region also coincides with some points where the species was previously recorded. The aim of this project is to assess the distribution and threats of Eupetaurus cinereus in the study area. The project also aims to formulate conservation plans for the species in the study area.
