Antarctic toothfish, the top predator in the deep waters of the Southern Ocean, has gained a tremendous attraction to legal and illegal fishery due to its high commercial value. The project aims at improving the knowledge of the life cycle and population genetic structure of this large, long-lived species to prevent overfishing and foster its conservation within and outside of Antarctic marine protected areas.
