Study of Bleeding Toad's Distribution at Situ Gunung, Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park

Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation (Project No. 14059370) - Bleeding Toad - Awarded $2,000 on October 04, 2014

Bleeding Toad listed as Critically Endangered because of a drastic population decline, estimated to be more than 80% over the last ten years, inferred from the apparent disappearance of most of the population. This species occurs only on Jawa Barat, Java, Indonesia, at altitudes up to 2,000m asl.

Target species relatively more threatened in their habitat, because the area that the target species lives is also a tourism site at Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park. it created a dillemma to the stakeholder, because on the other side, people have rights to visit and enjoy the tourism site, and in the same time the target species are more vulnerable because the distraction by the people came to visit the area.
