The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund has awarded $28,744,053 to 3049 conservation projects for all species types with all IUCN classifications throughout the world. Project managers that have decided to publish their projects, are illustrated on the map below.

White-clawed crayfish

The white-clawed crayfish is endangered throughout its range in the UK and rest of Europe and is a keystone species of river habitats. The project will aim to optimise captive breeding techniques to produce healthy bood stock for supplementation of wild populations and setting up ark sites (safe havens). Long-term genetic monitoring of broodstock and ark sites will assess population health.

Polynesian tree snail, 'areho' in Tahitian

Dozens of species of Polynesian tree snails (Partula) are extinct due to predation by a carnivorous snail introduced as a failed biological control attempt. However, a number of species were rescued from French Polynesian islands and have been maintained in an international breeding programme. The objective of this project is to initiate reestablishment of species extinct in the wild back into their home range.

Chilenito

The present study aims to explore the demographic tendencies of Eriosyce chilensis, a species distributed in an extremely narrow coastal strip in the Mediterranean zone at central Chile. To infer the demographic tendencies of E. chilensis we will conduct detailed mapping of the species distribution, filogeographic analyses and reproductive experiments. spatial, genetic and experimental tools.

African wild dog

Conservation detection dogs were trained to detect wire snares and work with anti-poaching teams in the buffer zone of South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. Dogs provided additional snare-finding capacity and allowed scouts to cover more ground more efficiently for detecting wire snares of all kinds.

Sahamalaza Sportive Lemur

The Sahamalza sportive lemur, Lepilemur sahamalazensis, is a small nocturnal primate that was discovered only recently in the north-west of Madagascar. In comparison to other sportive lemur species it has received very little scientific attention so far. This project aimed at studying the social organisation of the Sahamalaza sportive lemur as a step towards discovering more about this virtually unknown species.

Fishing cat

This study is based on fishing cat( Prionailurus viverrinus), an endangered species residing in Gannoruwa forest reserve Kandy. They are mainly threatened due to habitat loss, road kills and poaching . In this study population trends, threats, ecology, and abundance of fishing cats were monitored. Awareness rising programs along with the implementing world fist road signs which dedicated to fishing cats were done through this project.

javan leopard

Javan leopard (Panthera pardus melas) is a Critical endangered (IUCN) species and protected by Indonesian law. And this is the last remain Java big carnivore. Its existence more threatened since there was lack of data regard to its distribution and population, also the habitat fragmentation and land-use transformation. People need to be more aware about this species and conservation act need be done.

Greater big-footed mouse

The greater big-footed mouse is endemic in Madagascar. Its habitats are disturbed by human activities and predation. Studies of its movements and territory occupation have been carried out in Ankarafantsika to adopt appropriate conservation strategy. Surveys of this species have been carried out on October by using capture-mark-recapture. A measurement of few habitat variables has been performed to understand its habitat preference.
