Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation (Project No. 162513987) - Keruing - Awarded $4,500 on February 13, 2017

The project will provide mass propagation technique of stockpiles as a baseline key for ex-situ conservation program of the species, those include the activities of: field exploration for collecting cutting materials, formulating best environmental factors in the nursery that support the successful rate of rooted cuttings, and providing huge numbers of stockpiles from the very limited numbers of available cutting source.

Mursala Island is located in western coast of Sumatran mainland directly facing Indian Ocean. To get to the island, travelling with small boat or ferry is the only choice. Considering the season (rainfall, high tide/wave) field exploration will be conduct in around April, media and greenhouse preparation will be finished before April, greenhouse and nursery experiment will be conduct after getting back from the field.
