Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation (Project No. 232527685) - Red Panda - Awarded $9,510 on June 16, 2023

This project aims to increase the existing information on red pandas in eastern Nepal outside the protected area developing citizen scientists. The broad objective of the project is to turn the previously endorsed red panda conservation chapter in the operational plan (paper results) of the Community Forests into conservation outputs that mandate the followings: 1) To train and deploy Community forest user groups (CFUGs) as citizen scientists to monitor red panda and their threats by using in-field tracking and camera trapping, and therefore, transforming them as citizen scientists to continue the activity of data collection. 2. To conduct a community outreach program. 3. To promote awareness of the significance of red pandas and their habitat conservation to school children in and around red panda habitats. 4. To develop a public service announcement (PSA) video to put a lighthearted spin on a serious red panda conservation issue
