The overall objectives of my project are: 1. Conducting field survey to determine population size and activity area of Tonkin Snub-nosed Monkey (TSM) in Quan Ba forest; Assess quality forest habitat for TSM survival in Quan Ba area and identifying the habitat limitations; Assess key threats to the Quan Ba TSM population and its habitat with detailed study of forest farming of Tsao-ko cardamon plant Amomum tsao (Zingiberaceae) which is currently widespread and seriously affects the forest quality in Quang Ba District 2. Conducting a village survey to assess the livelihood status of local villagers and their attitude towards the TSM conservation 3.Working with stakeholders to develop comprehensive strategies for conservation of the Quan Ba TSM population which uses the community-based conservation approaches
