The overall objectives of the project to determine the home range and seasonal movement of Indian narrow headed soft-shell turtle and apply our finding for the conservation of this species throughout its entire range of distribution. Its main focus to produce scientific data on the following line as below: 1. The spatial behavior of the species seasonal cycle. 2. Pattern of the seasonal movement of nesting female and other physiological activities they are performing within the sanctuary area. 3. The importance of particular/different segments of river in different season (seasonal habitat use) to maintain a viable Chitra population in National Chambal Sanctuary. 4. The status and population health and potential nesting habitat for C. indica. AND 5. Capacity building workshop, education and awareness and community program to sensitize various target groups and improved species conservation attention among them.
