The projest goal is to assess the status and distribution of Ampedus quadrisignatus and several other globaly threatened and data deficient saproxylic click beetles in oak and beech forests in central part of Dinaric Alps (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Ampedus quadrisignatus is an obligate saproxylic click beetle that is very rare throughout its range. Its populations are severely fragmented and declining due to habitat degradation.
