The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund has awarded $28,744,053 to 3049 conservation
projects for all species types with all IUCN classifications throughout the world.

Victotria Tilapia
Victoria tilapia (Oreochromis variabilis), cichlid fish species endemic to lakes Victoria and Kyoga is critically endangered; therefore it’s at risk of being extinct in the wild. This project will contribute to reviving the populations of critically endangered Victoria tilapia in Lake Nawampasa through working with fishing communities to address threats to this fish species and its habitats.

Rara Lake Frog
Rara Lake Frog (Nanorana rarica) is endemic to Nepal and has been reported only from the Lake Rara (2,990m asl) situated at Rara National Park, Nepal. The species was described by Dubois & Matsui, 1983 as a new species based on morphometry and hardly any other information exists about it that's why the IUCN Red List (2004) has placed it under the Data Deficient category.

Ridge Marsupial Frog
The ridge marsupial frog (Gastrotheca psychrophila) is an endemic and endangered species with a known distribution range limited to the Cordillera Oriental (Southern Ecuador). The project is aimed to assess its population range and health in the Madrigal del Podocarpus Natural Reserve, reduce its habitat degradation (remove invasive pine trees and plant native species), search for new populations and implement a wide awareness-raising campaign.

The Bica Anole (Norops (Anolis) bicaorum) is a poorly studied lizard species endemic to the Island of Utila, off the Caribbean side of Honduras, Central America. Our project aimed to address conservation concerns relating to populations, whilst collecting additional data and information on the distribution, abundance, morphology, behavior and ecology of this species.

Sancti Spiritus Trope
Cuba is the center of diversification of the colorful dwarf boas’ genus Tropidophis, harboring 60% of all West Indian species. Many have restricted distribution ranges and are subjected to serious threats like habitat loss and intentional killing. The aim of this project is to provide updated baseline information on the ecology, distribution, and conservation status of the dwarf boas inhabiting the Guamuhaya Massif, central Cuba.
